So who are the racists?

So, in 30 minute I'm hit both these stories.

More than 60 campers from Northeast Philadelphia were turned away from a private swim club and left to wonder if their race was the reason.

"I heard this lady, she was like, 'Uh, what are all these black kids doing here?' She's like, 'I'm scared they might do something to my child,'" said camper Dymire Baylor.

The Creative Steps Day Camp paid more than $1900 to The Valley Swim Club. The Valley Swim Club is a private club that advertises open membership. But the campers' first visit to the pool suggested otherwise.

"When the minority children got in the pool all of the Caucasian children immediately exited the pool," Horace Gibson, parent of a day camp child, wrote in an email. "The pool attendants came and told the black children that they did not allow minorities in the club and needed the children to leave immediately."
Watching Fox News' morning show, "Fox and Friends," is a little bit like watching the aftermath of a particularly nasty car crash. Yeah, it's awful, but you just have to keep looking, because, well, who knows what mangled body parts they'll pull from the wreckage next?

Even by those standards, though, host Brian Kilmeade's performance on Wednesday was just terrible.

Kilmeade and two colleagues were discussing a study that, based on research done in Finland and Sweden, showed people who stay married are less likely to suffer from Alzheimer's. Kilmeade questioned the results, though, saying, "We are -- we keep marrying other species and other ethnics and other ..."

At this point, his co-host tried to -- in that jokey morning show way -- tell Kilmeade he needed to shut up, and quick, for his own sake. But he didn't get the message, adding, "See, the problem is the Swedes have pure genes. Because they marry other Swedes .... Finns marry other Finns, so they have a pure society."

So I'm sure someone will point out to me that we must keep the white children safe, from the darkies, or that Brian Kilmeade meant was that Swedes and Finns aren't mongrels and that darkies and beaners are destroying America's Aryan beauty...

See, this is what happens when people are suddenly honest, when they probably don't mean to be.

The parents at the pool just knew they needed to keep their white children safe from the coloreds. I mean can't have little Brittany swimming with black kids, can we?

Kilmeade was just being honest, about how he and the Fox News oganization feel about race, genetic purity, and their underlying hatred of mongrelization. What is most telling is that after the other people tried to walk him back, he just kept rolling. Oh well, I'm sure it is Obama's fault.

And now, the rest of the story...

1. The Creative Steps Day Camp was given all their money back.
2. It is a private club which means they have the right to refuse service to anyone.
3. The other kids in the pool made a statement with their exit that they did not wish to associate with a certain sect of society. Last time I checked that is not illegal.

Let's get to the heart of the situation. Where do you live? Do you live in a mostly white area or an urban area? Why?

I live in an affluent area of Henderson. I do so by choice. I do not want to live around a certain element of society. does that make me racist, or does it make me someone who cares about my property values, the crime rate where I live, or does it just mean that I want to live around other people who share my values?

Well it doesn't make me racist because other races do live in this area, but they are of the same value class, income class and from what I can tell, the same moral class. So race has little to do with it.

However, looking at the information available, we have less minorities than some other areas, we also have a lower crime rate, better rated schools, less public transportation and more high class retail stores where I choose to do business.

So do I not have a right to association? Do I not have a right to live around people with whom I have something in common?

These kids where dealt no major blow to their mental stability by being asked to leave, they also had no financial injury as they were refunded all their money. And as the existing members had a right to not want to be around them, they too have rights.

They have the right to take their business elsewhere. They have the right to open their own pool and exclude whom they wish, and if the market agrees with the idea, it will be successful just as this club has been.

You can't force people to hang out together. Tolerance does not mean acceptance or desire to mingle on any level.

It goes back to the idea of forcing companies to hire certain segments of the population based on population numbers. If I put my money on the line, I should not have to give up my right to hire the best people to return profits on my investment. So I want to be a fool and hire only those who look like me, I may loose my ass, but it was my money to begin with.

I am not a fool however, and would hire the best people for the job, regardless of color, because I am a capitalist and want to see a return on my investment. But the government should not be able to tell me who I MUST hire. If I was Black and decided I only wanted Black employees, I would be just as stupid as the white racist. You see, racist is far more prevalent in the American Black community than in the White community.

+++ Money isn't the issue. Only cheap things can be bought, the best stuff must be earned, usually with blood and sweat.

2. It is a private club which means they have the right to refuse service to anyone.
+++ "advertises open membership." Open meaning non exclusive. I guess what they should advertise is open to whites only.

And the last time I checked being a racist still wasn't illegal, most of the American Black population is racist.

But we still retain our freedom to associate with whom we want and to exclude in our associations, those we want. Am I wrong?

Sounds like a little more is known now. Including the fact that two other Day care centers were asked to leave recently, and at least one of them was white. Overcrowding, not color seem to be the cause.

I would ask, why keep signing contracts if you can't accommodate, but whatever, that's poor management, not racism.
